What have we been up to?

have managed to obtain Cyber Essentials certification today! Cyber Essentials helps me to guard against the most common cyber threats and demonstrates my commitment to cyber security.

Cyber Essentials ensures that I:
  • Have a clear picture of Pipster's cyber security level
  • Can reassure you, my customer, that I am working to secure my IT against cyber attack
  • Can attract new business with the evidence I have cyber security measures in place
  • Can apply for Government contracts that require Cyber Essentials certification

A copy of my dcertification can be found on the following link:

Super excited to receive my tickets for the @WiltsBusiness Awards Gala Dinner today. Good luck to all the finalists - I hope to bring some glassware home on behalf of all other freelancers! #WBizAwards18 #Freelancer #Bid #MicroBusiness #PoshFrockRequired #ProudToBeAPMP
Absolutely thrilled to be a finalist in the Wiltshire Business Awards 'Business Person of the Year' category - a surprise and and an honour!
I will be visited by the judges to help them decide and the awards take place on the 20th April - maybe this time I will bring home something for the freelancers amongst us?!

Amazing day at the FSB South West Awards. Didn't bring home the glassware, but met some inspiring business people and had a lovely day off! Being shortlisted was such an honour 😁 @fsb_voice #FSBAwards

It's that time of year again! I will be working most of the holidays, as those pesky Local Authorities have done it again with their first week of January return dates. Hey ho, we all have to do what it takes :)
I do hope 2018 brings you all that you need and desire - I look forward to working with you x
It was a pleasure presenting with Ben Hannon of Bid Solutions at the APMP UK Annual Conference this year. Our presentation was well received and we felt we not only helped those who fancied becoming freelance, but also created links with current freelancers to start up conversations with each other. Our Contractors' map is now available (image below). Please drop me a line if you would like a PDF copy. I was thrilled to be asked to mentor the Practitioner's training day as well. Our two 'completers' have successfully achieved CP APMP status and those that started are well on their way to creating their submissions. I am now on the registered list of APMP Mentors and hope to assist others to achieve their goals. Sadly I didn't win the Fiona Flower award - the big team from Equiniti were given that honour, however, I was chuffed to bits to be given the biggest cheer on the night - all power to the freelancers!!
Thrilled to be chosen to speak at this year's APMP Conference again, this year with Ben Hannon of Bid Solutions. We are taking our delegates on a freelancing adventure!

Intrepid delegates will be guided on a quest through the contracting wilderness, gaining an understanding of the freelancer’s role and confidence to tackle that Brave New World.

It is October 2017. An experienced bid professional has found himself in the thick jungle of contract wilderness. He must traverse the treacherous plains of the employment unknown, avoiding potential pitfalls to achieve his goals. Survival kit on shoulder, he is confident he can tackle this Brave New World. Join Pippa and Ben as they open our hero’s survival kit and reveal what’s required to be successful in the increasingly competitive freelance market. We will discuss potential hazards and how to fully prepare you for what lies ahead. Whether new to the freelance adventure or an experienced contract crusader, everyone is welcome to join the expedition.

Delegates will take away a ‘Contractor’s Survival Guide’, understanding how to become freelance and sustain a bidding business, as well the confidence to make that leap into the unknown!
Now in their 15th year, the APMP Awards celebrate and promote the finest achievements within the Bid & Proposal Management Profession. Each year, the APMP are blown away by the standard of entries which demonstrate a remarkable level of quality and excellence amongst the organisations, teams and individuals who apply. This year was no exception, and judges were overwhelmed with the levels of outstanding practice and cutting edge bid best practice that was demonstrated and a record number of entries received.

The Fiona Flower Management AWard, Sponsored by Qorus, is to recognise implementation of knowledge management, that has resulted in more efficient and effective bid or proposal submissions.

Pipster is up against big boys Equiniti and Carillion, so it will be a miracle if we win, but so so pleased to be shortlisted!

Results at the #APMPUKCON17 in October - watch this space!
