Pippa's background is in highways, however she has built up an impressive portfolio of construction, facilities management and justice bidding experience since becoming freelance. Pipster offers exemplary writing skills, as well as reviewing, proofing and editing functions. She has a comprehensive understanding of tender processes, alongside a strong grounding in the technical aspects of highways and construction contract delivery. Pippa Birch set up Pipster Solutions in 2012, with the aim of providing a simple, effective bid writing service. It has become much more than that; a successful, sustainable business with over 30 clients winning the work they need to keep their own businesses running. over the last 5 years, Pipster’s services have evolved, still providing quality writing, but also bid management and coaching. I have also developed a comprehensive Bid Management System, to cover the bidding process from bid decision through to contract award and mobilisation. I am now giving back to the bidding industry through mentoring, writing and presenting. I plan to do much more with my business in the next few years, expanding my coaching of small businesses and encouraging young people to forge a career in the bidding world.

I present to the conferences about what it means to be a freelancer in the bidding world, avoiding the negative aspects and how to ensure a successful stream of work. I am a member of the Communications Committee and am being sought to be a future board member. My contribution going forward should mean that clients and freelancers will ensure a positive and constant stream of information and assistance is available for those that need it.

My success is impressive for Pipster's size as I am one person. Many of my competitors have teams, supported by innovative software and technology to complete additional tasks including administration, portal work and reviews. They have larger budgets for marketing and promotion, whereas I work hard to provide relevant content on social media and for my clients by myself, alongside the day job.
